Camp Thorpe, a nonprofit summer camp in Goshen, VT, is looking for a Caretaker to manage the camp\'s day-to-day maintenance needs for summer 2024. We are looking to hire for a May 1st start. The camp officially closes the week of Oct 14th. Tasks would include opening and closing the camp, handling daily repair requests, maintaining the pool, which we will train on, and overseeing the landscaping crew that comes in to keep our green spaces. This position will also assist in Camp Thorpe\'s planning for upkeep and groundwork for the coming year.
During the summer, we offer a flexible schedule for the Caretaker. You will be available each day during the Camping Season, excluding Saturdays when Camp is not in session and excluding all Sundays. On these excluded Saturdays and Sundays, you will be available on call with a text message or call, giving you the freedom to plan your time effectively.
During the Fall off-season, the Caretaker is available for any rental needs or repairs and the closing of camp in October. There would also be an option to be on call during the winter months to support the maintenance needs of the staff living on campus year-round. This can be negotiated.
This is a position for someone who enjoys working with their hands, being outdoors, supporting marginalized community members, and supporting the growth of a 97-year-old nonprofit doing good work in our state.
