Responsible for safely and efficiently coordinating mechanical press and feeder setup to support daily production schedule. Responsible for adhering to LCI core values, quality directives, safety guidelines, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives. Acts as the setup go between for production scheduling, quality department, operators, supervisors, tool and die, and maintenance team.
Must successfully complete LCI new hire safety training and refreshers
Must be able to successfully pass the LCI, OSHA approved, forklift-training course.
Must successfully complete LCI Lock Out Tag Out Training
Must successfully complete LCI Fall Hazard Training, as required
Must successfully complete LCI Confined Space Training, as required
Must successfully complete all LCI lean training, as required.
Schedule Awareness – Stays up to date on daily schedules for perspective shift and coordinates dies, material, and tools to facilitate efficient changeover of product on each press.
Press Setup – Able to provide oversight and coaching of die change/setup on part revolution mechanical power presses including, but not limited to, Heim, Verson, Precision, Minster, and Clearing equipment
Die Support – Inspects and stages dies prior to installation and inspects and reports damaged dies to Tool and Die department after removal; stores die in appropriate locations.
Feeders/Straightener Setup – Able to provide oversight and coaching on setup/coil change of feeders and straighteners related to the presses.
Approval of Setup – Inspects and approves all changes made by production operators; approves 1st part via Quality standards.
Continuous Improvement – Supports Training, Documentation, SMED and other press based continuous improvement initiatives.
2+ years of setup experience on coil fed, mechanical revolution, stamping equipment.
Good communication and coaching skills
Good mechanical aptitude
Observation and promotion of all safety rules and policies
Good housekeeping and implementing/sustaining 5s standards for organization.
Basic computer and reading/writing skills.
Highly motivated, organized, self-starter, able stage and execute multiple jobs at once.
Required to use honesty, integrity, and candor with the entire team to create trust, and to support their passion for winning.
Committed to a maintaining positive attitude and caring about people.
Must be reliable and prompt.
This role does not have any supervisory responsibility upon hiring.
While performing the duties of this job, the team member is regularly required to talk and hear. This position is very active – while performing this job the team member is regularly standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, balancing, reaching, handling, and climbing all day. The team member may have to lift and/or move items over 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
In addition, the team member may be exposed to dust, fumes, gases, noise, heat, cold, and wet work while performing job duties. This position requires Personal Protective Equipment.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:
This is a full-time hourly position, and hours of work and days are based upon the need to support operations and production. Some Saturdays will be mandatory.
No travel will be required.
Preferred Education and Experience:
Spanish and English language skills preferred.
High school diploma or equivalent preferred
Work Authorization/Security Clearance:
Must be able to pass EVerify.
