Job Title: Maintenance Mechanic

Job Description

Join our team as a Maintenance Mechanic to ensure the smooth operation of hydraulic systems, gearboxes, conveyor equipment, vibrating feeders, hammer mills, cranes, and various industrial equipment. Your role will involve maintaining, troubleshooting, repairing, and assembling industrial machinery and facilities. You'll work with a range of tools and equipment including hand tools, power tools, welding and metal joining equipment, and mobile equipment. You will be responsible for reading and interpreting blueprints, diagrams, and other instructional materials, and filling out necessary reports and paperwork. Additionally, you will perform cutting, welding, brazing, and soldering on metal sheets and plates, operate cranes, and manage scaffolding setups for repair work.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience in heavy industrial environments (Steel, Aluminum, Nuclear)

  • Proficient with hydraulics, conveyor systems, gear boxes

  • Ability to operate cranes and mobile equipment

  • Skill in reading and interpreting blueprints, diagrams, and manuals

  • Welding, brazing, and soldering proficiency

  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills

  • Ability to work collaboratively with team members

  • Effective communication skills

  • Adaptability to rotating shifts and mandatory overtime

Work Environment

This position is based in a heavy industrial environment which can be dirty and is not climate-controlled. Some areas may be extremely hot due to operational equipment and outdoor climate. The team culture emphasizes treating everyone like family with a supportive atmosphere where mechanics and electricians collaborate to resolve issues. The current maintenance team consists of 86 members, with a goal to expand to 106. Candidates must wear steel toes, hardhat, safety glasses, and ear plugs, with additional PPE depending on the department. Work schedules include rotating shifts, with the possibility of mandatory overtime, depending on department needs.
