ABOUT THIS POSITION We are recruiting for a Principal Test Engineer to join our product development team located in the Minneapolis, MN location. This position will be responsible for designing the test strategy and executing test development and execution to verify and validation software solutions for our next generation Inspire products. This work will include technical leadership and providing guidance to a team as well as individual contributions to the design, implementation, deployment and verification of embedded software. OPPORTUNITIES YOU WILL HAVE IN THIS ROLE Lead design & implementation of verification tests, lead debugging of various embedded software algorithms issues as they are found Lead design reviews to ensure test designs meet or exceed implementation, scalability, and maintainability (automaticity) best practices Engage in risk management activities in compliance with ISO 14971 Generate and approve design history file documents including requirements, test designs, trace matrices, test scripts and test method validations Ensure all quality system, regulatory, legal, and business requirements are met during product development and market delivery Support post market (commercial) product and/or therapy related investigations as well as CAPA activities and implementations WHAT YOU CAN BRING TO OUR GREAT TEAM Required: Bachelor's of Science degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related field. 18+ years of work experience in test systems, or software development Experience in testing medical devices Experience in Python language or equivalent Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate with both internal and external stakeholders Experience in Test Method Validation (tools V&V) Preferred: Active implantable medical product development experience Experience with embedded software development, testing Experience with industry standards for medical devices such as ISO 14971, ISO 14708, EN 45502, IEC 60601, IEC 62304, IEC 62366 etc. Experience integrating Agile systems for test planning, execution, and tracking (JIRA tool) Inspire Medical Systems provides equal employment opportunity (EEO) to all employees and applicants without regard to race, color, religion, creed, sex, national origin, age, disability, marital status, familial status, sexual orientation, status regarding public assistance, membership or activity in a local commission, military or veteran status, genetic information, or any other status protected by applicable federal, state, and local laws.
