Waters Research Chemist II in Golden, Colorado

Waters-ERA is currently leading a search for a Research Chemist II who is primarily responsible for product development, method development, continuous process improvement, validations, technical support, and regulatory compliance for the ERA Organic Product Lines.

The Research Chemist II works closely with customers, quality, operations, IT, EH&S, sales, and marketing to ensure the highest level of product quality and value are provided to Waters-ERA customers. The Research Chemist II has direct interface with customers who have technical questions requiring advanced technical support including customer complaints. The position will work with the Technical Managers to develop product plans with Sales/Marketing and OEM customers for product line development including validation and implementation into production.

Technical Product Leadership & Cross Functional Collaboration

  • Technical product & instrumentation subject matter expert for organic chemistry products.

  • Supporting Operations through implementing process improvements, resolving technical issues and documentation.

  • Collaborates with Technical Managers, PLM’s, and the Quality department to develop solutions that are justified and focused on improving the product line efficiencies and quality.

  • Responsible for evaluating new product standard costs, resource requirements and technical capabilities stemming from Sales & Marketing requirements.

  • Collaborates with Marketing, Operations, IT and Quality to create project plans and timelines to deliver new product launches on-time.

  • Creating and managing the execution of validation plans.

  • Gathering, evaluating, and reporting key operational and analytical metrics (trend analyses).

  • Developing, reviewing, and updating SOP’s, work instructions.

  • Decision making and risk assessment of current processes. Focus on improvement and technical modifications while achieving regulatory and accreditation requirements.

  • Collaborate with Quality team on development of CAPA projects as needed for Process Water and all product lines. Responsible for documentation and implementation of Corrective and Preventative action plans to address quality issues.

  • Bachelor’s degree in a scientific field.

  • Minimum 5-7 years of technical production, analytical instrumentation, or similar experience.

  • GC, GC/MS, LC, LC/MS/MS instrumentation experience and knowledge required.

  • Proven track record of successful problem solving and process/method implementation.

  • Demonstration of ability to work cross functionally across an organization.

  • Effective communication skills.

  • Proficient in MS Word, Excel & Power Point.
