Job Title: Adjunct Faculty - Biological Sciences Institution: Colorado School of Mines Location: Golden, CO Start Date: Fall 24 and Spring 25 Semesters, August 2024 Application Deadline: April 19th, 2024 Compensation: $8,000 - $10,000 per 3-credit course

The Department of Chemical and Biological Engineering at the Colorado School of Mines invites applications for a part-time adjunct faculty positions to teach in the biological sciences for the fall 2024 and spring 2025 semesters. We are seeking candidates with a strong background in the biological sciences who are passionate about education and committed to providing students with an exceptional learning experience.

Responsibilities:

Teach one or more of the following courses: Introductory Biology I and II with lab, Genetics with lab, Immunology, Neuroscience, Quantitative Human Biology, Biological Psychology, and upper-division electives in the biological sciences to undergraduate and graduate students at the Colorado Scho

Prepare course materials, including lectures, assignments, exams, and lab activities, as required

Maintain regularly scheduled office hours to assist and mentor students

Assess and provide timely feedback on student performance, including grading assignments and exams

Collaborate with other faculty members to continuously improve course content and teaching methodologies

Qualifications:

Ph.D. in the Biological Sciences or a closely related field (preferred)

Prior teaching experience, especially at the college or university level (preferred)

Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Strong organizational and time management skills

Ability to work independently and collaboratively with a diverse group of students and faculty

Commitment to promoting an inclusive and supportive learning environment
