About the Locations You Will Be Supporting:

Goderich Plant, Ontario : Compass Minerals’ Goderich Plant has operated since 1867, after an unsuccessful search for oil uncovered a vast bed of rock salt under Goderich. Using mechanical evaporation, the plant produces high-purity, fine- and coarse-grained salt products in packages and in bulk for commercial, agricultural and industrial applications. The plant also packages rock salt from the mine that is used for deicing and water conditioning.

Goderich is named Canada’s Prettiest Town and is best known for its stunning sunsets. Goderich is a lakeside community of 8,000 people located approximately 1.5 hours from London and Kitchener-Waterloo, Ontario.

Amherst, Nova Scotia : Compass Minerals’ Amherst Mechanical Evaporation Plant produces and packages a variety of salt products. Almost 50% of the salt manufactured at the plant is food-grade salt distributed for use in commercial food production and for table salt used in homes across Canada. In addition, the plant produces and packages salt for water conditioning, agriculture, fishery, deicing and even pool salt.

The Amherst Plant is located in a fully established community of 10,000, situated on the Nova Scotia/New Brunswick border on the northeast end of the Cumberland Basin, an arm of the Bay of Fundy. Amherst is two hours from Halifax and less than an hour’s drive from Moncton, NB.

Unity, Saskatchewan : Located in the western part of Saskatchewan, Compass Minerals’ Unity Mechanical Evaporation Plant is one of the company’s four mechanical evaporation plants. The plant produces and packages a wide variety of salt products including water conditioning salt, bulk salt, food-grade salt and salt for agriculture. The Unity Evaporation Plant is located in a friendly community of 2,500 that loves hockey and curling, situated in the beautiful big-sky prairies, an hour from North Battleford and a 2 hour drive from Saskatoon. We’re proud to be one of Unity’s steadfast employers.

Wynyard, Saskatchewan : Compass Minerals’ Wynyard Mechanical Evaporation Plant is located on Big Quill Lake. The plant is Canada’s largest producer of sulfate of potash (SOP). The site uses two unique processes to produce SOP: ion exchange process and glaserite process. SOP from this site is used for the pharmaceutical, medical, food and fertilizer industries, and other industrial uses.
