Health & Safety Co-ordinator
To assist the Safety, Health Environment, & Quality Manager to promote a positive EHS culture by preventing accidents, injuries & ill health within our business and establishing standards and processes at the Cheltenham site.
Main Duties & Accountabilities :Support the site SHEQ Manager in the development and implementation of effective policies and procedures to reduce risk.
Facilitate and develop a safe workplace without risk to health or impact on the natural environment.
To identify and lead the development of environmental improvement projects within the site in line with the business’s 2025 plan to reduce carbon emissions by 25% (Science based target, scopes 1 & 2).
Coaching the wider operational teams for them to be able to complete and review machine, manual handing, COSHH and ergonomic risk assessments.
To manage all aspects of environmental management including waste streams, ISO certification, permit requirements and pollution control.
Support SHEQ meetings in coordination with the site leadership team with a view to monitor and improve SHEQ performance on site.
Support the SHEQ Manager by being a key facilitator and encourage continual improvement on site regarding EHS provision.
Conduct internal audits in line with the schedule. Reporting non-conformities to the manager of the area and ensuring the non-conformities are closed out in a timely manner by the manager of the area.
Education / Qualifications:
Essential
NEBOSH Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety (or equivalent level 3)
ISO 14001:2015 Internal auditor
Desirable
NEBOSH Environmental Management Certificate (or equivalent)
Member of the Institution of Occupational Health and Safety (IOSH)
ISO 9002:2015 Internal auditor
