Job Description Summary

Lead design quality engineer will be integral part of Quality Systems and Compliance division at GE Aerospace at Dowty Propellers Headquarters at Brockworth, Gloucester. Lead design quality engineer will develop APQP/AS9145 framework working with NPI and development programs and lead towards the process maturity. Lead design quality engineer will determine customer quality requirements and flowdown to ensure program delivers to the requirement. This role will involve driving product and process improvements through engineering collaboration. You will also play an important role in overseeing and providing technical guidance to internal customers, team members and stakeholders.

Job Description

Essential Responsibilities :

• Owner of Quality requirements and customer flow downs on new product development programs

• Supporting daily quality and NPI programs reporting through standard meeting rhythms

• Identification of opportunities for improvement projects

• Lead customer quality communication and interface on NPI programs

• Quality Oversight of technology and NPI programs

• Definition of quality outputs on NPI program

• Ownership of root cause corrective actions reducing CoPQ

Desired Characteristics:

• Demonstrated experience in the application of APQP / AS9145

• Experience in Quality function within a manufacturing or engineering organisation

• Customer focused and understanding of customer needs

• Understanding of Toll gate and NPI processes

• Ability to influence others and lead improvement projects

• Experience in MRL assessment

• Knowledge in at least one of composite layup and cure, machining, NDT, metrology

• Good oral, written communication + presentation skills

• Good interpersonal and team skills

• Excellent ability to work with digital tools and data

• Ability to coordinate several projects simultaneously.

• Effective problem identification and solution skills.

• Proven analytical and organizational ability.

• Committed to self learning and continuous development

Qualifications/Requirements:

• In-depth knowledge of either AS13100 or AS9145/APQP practices

• Relevant technical education or degree with experience in Quality or Engineering

• Proven experience in QC Engineering, Quality System Planning and Quality Improvement methods

• Working knowledge of CAA regulations

• Working knowledge of AS9100/ISO9001 requirements
