Logistics Manager

Responsible for managing personnel & processes related to all Logistics activities for the site. This function covers all Stores, Shipping & Dispatch activities including material receipt, storage of goods, kitting, delivery to point of use, internal material movements, packing and shipping of product, and inbound & outbound freight

  • Ensure all EHS requirements are adhered to within the Logistics function and promoting a zero-incident safety culture.

  • Lead and develop a Logistics team to achieve site goals.

  • Manage the inward processing of materials to ensure their timely receipt, accurate transaction and storage of any associated documentation.

  • Lead / participate in Rapid Improvement Events with focus on improving Logistics processes

  • Optimise the day to day operations of all warehouses, identifying process improvements which facilitate safe, efficient and controlled processes

  • Manage team capacity by reviewing the Logistics KPIs and outputs from SIOP process.

  • Ensure inventory accuracy and control in line with Company procedures.

  • Establish relationships with integrators, freight forwarders and couriers, and manage costs associated with packaging.

  • Maintain compliance with all import / export regulations and legal obligations.

  • Management of the IP (Inward Processing) Duty Relief Scheme in line with HMRC requirements.

  • Set the strategic direction for the Logistics function and drive progress against planned objectives

  • Ensure all areas comply with company 5S standards, and drive improvement.

  • Managing costs in line with profit plan budget.

  • Lead / support MESH elements as required.

  • Goal setting, performance reviews & performance management in line with company requirements.

  • Absence management and disciplinary actions in line with company procedures.


Experience Required

  • Knowledge of regulations, processes and compliance for Importing & exporting goods.

  • Manager of People experience.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.

  • Knowledge of materials planning systems (MRP/ERP) requirements and order generation process logic

  • Thorough understanding of Supply Chain Management operational concepts surrounding inventory control, logistics, stockroom operations, and shipping/receiving.

  • Ability to coordinate cross-site, multi-functional teams.

  • Demonstrated use of Continuous Improvement tools.

  • Strong PC application skills. Including complement of Microsoft Office Software.

  • Possess strong analytical skills to be able to review data and apply informed decisions.
