Program Summary

KBR provides full-spectrum base operations support to Naval Support Facility Diego Garcia, a remote location in the British Indian Ocean Territory. Job Summary

Under the supervision of the Construction Manager, the position is responsible for managing all the aspects of Mechanical works of the Indefinite Delivery Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ) Project. Overseeing and directing Mechanical works from conception to completion. Under general direction, has supervisory/lead responsibility over Mechanical personnel on Projects. Supervises all Mechanical construction-related activities and ensures compliance with Mechanical design; develops and maintains effective relationships with Subcontractors and Suppliers.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Responsibilities include maintaining a Daily Log of noteworthy Mechanical works performed.

  • Evaluate all Mechanical Construction Drawings and ensure accuracy in implementation of same; maintains an effective Construction Execution Schedule (CES) for Mechanical construction activities.

  • Perform on-site Visits and ensure compliance with all Project Mechanical Specifications and Guidelines.

  • Supervises the Mechanical works to ensure that they are carried out IAW the Contract and Code requirements.

  • Supervises the execution of the Mechanical works to ensure satisfactory execution.

  • Supervises and records any tests of Mechanical materials.

  • Ensures that up-to-date Record Drawings (“red lines”) are maintained for Mechanical work scope.

  • Ensures that progress photographs are recorded and maintained for Mechanical works.

  • Assures implementation of the Company's Safety Policy.

  • Notifies the Contractor and others of any hazardous situations

Basic Qualifications

  • Must be a US or UK Citizen.

  • Must be always on-site during the performance of this Contract until work is completed and accepted.

  • Must be familiar with the requirements of EM 385-1-1 and have experience in the areas of Hazard Identification and Safety Compliance.

  • Must be capable of interpreting a Critical Path Method (CPM) Schedule and Construction Drawings.

  • Must know Construction Management processes, means, methods, building products, construction details, and relevant rules, regulations, and quality standards.

  • Must have a reasonable understanding of all facets of the construction process.

  • Must have strong leadership, management, and team-building skills.

  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple Sites in a fast-paced environment.

  • Working knowledge of Mechanical construction techniques.

  • Must have good oral and written communication skills which enable to effectively liaise with other Departments within the Organization, subcontractors, and Clients.

  • Must pass overseas medical screening and be in good health.

  • Must be Contract-oriented and computer-literate in Microsoft Office software.

  • Must have a valid and be able to obtain driver’s license in country of Origin

Preferred Qualifications

EDUCATION:

  • Minimum High School Diploma and Master Plumber License are required; an Associate or Bachelor of Science Degree in Construction Management, Architecture, Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent is highly desired.

EXPERIENCE:

  • Five (5) years minimum total experience in Construction Management with five (5) years as Supervisor or Superintendent of Mechanical Construction Projects. Experience and demonstrable working knowledge of the Uniform Plumbing Code (UPC), ASHRAE 90.1 / 62.1, and NFPA 13.
