About the Position

The Waste Management Division of Lane County Public Works seeks a Program Supervisor to provide collaborative and solution-oriented leadership for its Fee Collection Program. Along with a co-Program Supervisor, this position supervises a staff of 40 full and part-time service professionals who work 7 days a week at 16 waste collection sites located across Lane County.

Duties include: staff communication, scheduling and shift assignments; reviewing and approving timecards; and hiring, training and reviewing personnel.

In addition, this position supervises the reconciliation of fee collection functions including daily receipts, change funds, and the cash vault; ensures the accuracy and protection of user fees; manages customer service issues; plans for special projects; and coordinates and communicates with other Waste Management work groups, including Transfer Operations and Waste Reduction.

NOTE: Strong communication skills are essential. The two Program Supervisors overlap their schedules two days per week, so operational efficiency requires the two positions to routinely share detailed information, as well as big picture plans.

  • Are you driven to connect with customers and co-workers?

  • Do you think creatively as you focus on solutions?

  • Are you proficient in MS Office Suite, technically savvy, and enjoy learning new software programs?

  • Are you interested in contributing to environmental sustainability and in keeping Lane County clean and beautiful?

If you answered yes to these questions, this position and this team might be the right fit for you!
