WESCO VP - Operations Transformation in Glenview, Illinois

As VP Operations Transformation, you will lead the execution of the Wesco Operations transformation strategy for the global integrated network of distribution, location and services facilities. You will lead enterprise level transition with multiple functional leaders, drive initiatives to include network segmentation, physical location transitions, digital technology improvements and implementations, and end-to-end process improvements, including automation, to drive network optimization and create a customer focused operating model that employs best in class supply chain strategies and technologies.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead network design strategy to align commercial priorities, market forecasts, analytics and full life-cycle approach to build and implement future Wesco distribution, supply chain services, manufacturing and retail network.

  • Lead implementation of world class supply chain technology to include Warehouse Management System (WMS), Transportation Management System (TMS), and Order Management System (OMS). Align processes and best practices across multiple ERP environments to ensure unified network operating models.

  • Create the automation and new technology roadmap for Wesco globally. This includes developing the vision and strategy of how our global locations should operate with automation and digitization, and making that strategy a reality.

  • Coordinate physical and digital transformation program and initiatives with a matrixed team to achieve cost, working capital, timeline and budget objectives.

  • Work collaboratively with business units to support growth initiative for new products and markets to ensure Wesco’s operating network and capabilities align with commercial initiatives.

  • Manage multiple technical departments to effectively execute the transformation strategy to include business systems, network design, automation, engineering and quality systems.

  • Partner with function leaders to optimize total cost and working capital across the global operating network.

  • Develop repeatable, efficient and effective business processes and change management strategies for transforming network.

  • Develop multi-year capital plans and business cases to support all initiatives and strategies.

  • Coach and mentor regional leaders and talent to build pipeline of successors, along with build skills and capabilities needed to achieve business objectives.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors Degree required; Masters Degree preferred

  • 15+ years of experience in supply chain distribution

  • Experience in leading technological and cultural change in a complex ($1B USD or greater) growing organization

  • Experience leading large scale enterprise change

  • LEAN Six Sigma and/or continuous improvement experience

  • Experienced in identifying and implementing projects such as automation, kaizens, facility redesign, etc. to drive throughput and efficiency

  • Focus on maintaining a safe, employee centric workplace

  • Business and leadership strengths, including strategic planning, resource allocation, financial acumen, situational leadership, production methods, and coordination of people and resources

  • Principles and processes for providing customer and personal services, including customer needs assessment, journey mapping, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction

  • Ability to explain, and in selected areas, teach/coach appropriate policies, procedures, and associated practices

  • Proven track record of data driven problem solving and project/program management

  • Strong verbal, written, analytical, persuasion and interpersonal skills

  • Strong time management skills

  • Strong computer skills

  • Demonstrate teamwork, leadership, and flexibility

  • Ability to travel 50% - 75%
