The Senior Project Engineer is responsible for the technical, architectural, and facilities engineering project coordination and integration of Design & Planning (D+P) disciplines, from conceptual design through construction for a specific land, park, or resort project. This includes coordination efforts with Creative, Show, and Ride teams. You will report to the Project Design Manager.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide architecture and facilities engineering project coordination and integration from conceptual design through construction for a single attraction.

  • Facilitate technical coordination of A/E design documents, models, specs, basis of design among Architecture, Design & Engineering (AD&E) design disciplines and across WDI Divisions (Show, Ride, Creative), and in consideration of programmatic requirements (Operational Stakeholders).

  • Proactively build, maintain, and track Issues Resolution Log (IRL) or similar document, including capturing design issues, assigning responsible parties, and tracking status and commitments that result from design reviews and meetings.

  • Organize and facilitate Big Room/ICE (Integrated Concurrent Engineering) sessions, design reviews.

  • Timely preparation and handling of directives, submittals, justification for change, etc.

  • Participation in regularly scheduled project meetings with project team, consultants, and contractors.

  • Quality assurance and control, both of design documentation as well as field construction.

  • Directs AD&E project team members on coordination and integration activities related to the technical scope of work; this also includes any 3rd party architecture and engineering consultants.

  • Assist Design Manager in the architecture and facilities engineering project coordination and integration from conceptual design through construction of themed entertainment projects.

This includes:

  • Assists in facilitating technical coordination of A/E design documents, models, specs, basis of design among Architecture, Design & Engineering (AD&E) design disciplines and across WDI Divisions (Show, Ride, Creative), and in consideration of programmatic requirements (Operational Stakeholders).

  • Coordinates the document release process between disciplines and document control specialist (plot coordination, repro, and digital/physical distribution).

  • Assist in the resolution of questions arising from construction documents, field conditions and contractor requests for information.

  • Tracking of facility punch lists

  • Provide technical input to other project team members as required to assist with project decision-making and settling of contractor change orders.

  • Resolve questions arising from construction documents, field conditions and contractor requests for information.

Required Skills:

  • 8+ years of relevant work experience

  • Interact and communicate efficiently with a project team, including field leads and key department representatives

  • Coordinate with design teams in all divisions through frequent discussions and work sessions

  • Solid understanding of Building Information Management (BIM), Revit and CADD

  • Solid understanding of design and engineering including industry practices, construction methods, codes, technology, and preparation of contract documents

  • Experience integrating large projects with multi-disciplinary functions or designers - preferred

Preferred Qualifications & Experience:

  • Working knowledge of Integrated Project Delivery (IPD) and Design Assist.

  • Professional license.

  • Experience integrating large complex projects with multi-disciplinary functions or designers.

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Architecture is required

  • Advanced degree is desired

  • Professional License desired

The hiring range for this position in California is $91,840 to $126,280 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
