The Walt Disney Studios Technology Team is seeking a Production Manager for the Theatrical Systems team to enhance our digital cinema management system.

The Product Manager will report to the Manager, Technology Solutions at The Walt Disney Studios and is based in Burbank.

Responsibilities

The Product Manager is responsible for the planning and execution throughout the product life cycle of one or more products, including gathering and prioritizing product and customer requirements, defining the product vision, and working closely with engineering, business stakeholders, and support to ensure metrics and goals are met.

The Product Manager's job also includes ensuring that the product supports the company's overall strategy and goals.

  • Translate business strategy and needs into actionable product strategy and roadmaps.

  • Lead requirements gathering and working group sessions with stakeholders from business and technology teams.

  • Own the roadmap for the backend and frontend components of the Poly Archive product.

  • Collaborate with the product teams of the DCP mastering system, and the asset management systems to ensure that roadmaps and requirements are synchronized.

  • Work closely with the engineering team on design and technical requirements.

  • Provide insight to stakeholders on the product, strategy, and delivery timelines.

  • Write high-level requirements and set team goals.

  • Participate in scrum meetings, planning, reviews and retrospectives.

Skills and Requirements

  • 7 plus years of industry experience as a Product Owner/Product Manager

  • Direct experience modernizing an existing product, as well, building new functionality

  • 3 or more years of experience managing and developing a software development team.

  • Experience in the entertainment industry, particularly the digital supply chain.

  • Familiar with web app architecture and design paradigms.

  • Experience designing APIs and micro services.

  • Proven track record in delivering complex software projects using a recognized project management methodology (Agile, Scrum, Waterfall, etc.).

  • Proven track record in using external resources (vendors, contractors, offshore, etc.) for developing software.

  • Prior experience in an agile development environment, with a solid understanding of SCRUM principles and methodologies

  • Exceptional written and verbal communication abilities

  • Proficient in translating complex concepts and requests between technical and non-technical stakeholders

  • Comfortable working independently or collaboratively within cross-functional teams

  • Capable of analyzing existing datasets to uncover actionable insights

  • Location: Glendale 3x week - Previous experience as the analyst or associate technical product manager for a technical product team

  • Familiarity with theatrical products and/or digital cinema(DCP) technologies

  • A working understanding of the digital cinema supply chain

  • CSPO Cert

  • Experience with asset management systems.
