Reports to the Program Manager of Inpatient and is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the Inpatient team and utilization management for all lines of business under Johns Hopkins HealthCare LLC. The supervisor will have direct daily interactions with all aspects of staffing to include, but not limited to, daily assignments and coverage of all facilities, investigation and resolution processes. He/she in conjunction with the manager will support all Plan expectations including, productivity standards, continual learning, quality, and excellent member and provider service. The supervisors will precept Nurses and Medical Management Assistants (MMAs) on all aspects of the Inpatient process and provide resources as needed. nds re-admission levels.

  • Work requires knowledge of the health field and managed care with three years of utilization management experience. Work in a managed care health plan or environment is a plus. Also, requires a minimum of three years of acute care nursing experience. Knowledge of utilization management tools and criteria a plus.

  • Current Registered Nurse licensure in the state of Maryland

  • Requires excellent analytical, organizational, and interpersonal skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities. The ability to independently resolve complex issues and keep management appropriately informed. Ability to community effectively in English. Leadership skills to coach and develop clinical staff. Work also requires reinforcing quality standards, analyzing and resolving quality and customer service problems, identifying trends and recommending process and procedural improvements, ability to handle sensitive and confidential information, and the ability to communicate and exchange information with all internal and external customers.

  • A minimum of three years of hospital or health plan utilization management experience is required. Also, requires a minimum of two or more years of management experience, preferably in a health insurance or hospital setting.
