The Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering (http://www.rowan.edu/ece) (ECE) of Henry M. Rowan College of Engineering (https://engineering.rowan.edu) at Rowan University (http://www.rowan.edu) invites applications for non-tenure-track, full-time, open-rank teaching professor positions.
About These Positions
The successful candidates for these unique positions will:
Develop, teach, and assess innovative, project-based, and hands-on courses/labs in the ECE curriculum,
Assist students and other faculty in the practical applications of analog and digital circuits & electronics; computers, embedded systems & IoT, control systems, communications, and/or other relevant ECE areas,
Provide students with curricular and career advice as appropriate.
Assist students with prototyping, fabrication, and verification of their designs.
Applicants with expertise in all fundamental areas of electrical and computer engineering are invited to apply, however, our priority areas of need are:
digital and embedded systems, computer architecture,
circuits, electronics and VLSI systems, RF electronics
power and energy systems, power electronics, and
control systems
The Department greatly values experiential and project-based learning, integrating emerging topics and technologies into the curriculum, and provides state-of-the-art equipment, instruments, rapid prototyping, fabrication and computational resources (https://engineering.rowan.edu/programs/electricalcomputer/about/facilities.html) to support such activities. Our dedication to project-based learning is reflected in our curriculum, as most of our courses have lab/project components. As a result, we seek individuals who share this dedication, have the skills and passion to develop and deliver innovative design and implementation-based projects and other experiential learning activities using appropriate modern tools.
Minimum requirements
Candidates must have earned a terminal doctoral degree in Electrical and/or Computer Engineering, or in a closely related field. Relevant teaching and/or industry experience will be highly valued. Strong communications skills, the ability to work with multi-disciplinary student and faculty teams, and the ability to teach in a project-based, hands-on learning setting are essential.

A national leader in engineering education, the Henry M. Rowan College of Engineering (https://engineering.rowan.edu/) was founded in 1995 and quickly gained national recognition for its innovative, multidisciplinary, project-based approach to engineering education. Since 2017, Rowan Engineering has doubled both its full-time faculty and student population and started Ph.D. programs. We also opened Engineering Hall, the new home of the ECE Department, and completed a full renovation of our original home, Rowan Hall. These projects tripled our available space and provided the College with state-of-the-art research and teaching facilities. The College currently enrolls approximately 2,000 undergraduate and graduate students in six departments and is home to four research centers, including the ECE’s rapidly growing Machine & Artificial Intelligence Virtual Reality Center (MAVRC) (https://engineering.rowan.edu/mavrc/) .
Teaching Professors are 10-months full-time, non-tenure track teaching faculty. Successful candidates will teach a total of 24 credits over two semesters. Teaching Professors positions are renewable, with expectations for continuing renewal of three, and then five years per contract.
