City of Glasgow Landfill Laborer in Glasgow, Kentucky
Position Purpose
Under general direction performs semi-skilled and routine work in the processing and collection of recyclable materials and grounds keeping and litter control at the landfill.
Essential Functions and Basic Duties:
Drives a truck (CDL license preferred) to collect, transport, and unload recyclables.
Operates forklift, uni-loader, and baler.
Performs grounds keeping work at the landfill, including mowing, weed eating, and litter pickup.
Does manual labor as requested.
Performs other related duties as required.
Qualifications:
Training and Experience:
- Graduation from an accredited high school or its equivalent (GED).
Special Requirement(s):
Possession of a valid driver's license.
Possession of a commercial driver's license is preferred.
Safety-sensitive position is subject to drug screening test.
Special Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Working knowledge of the operation of trucks and other assigned pieces of equipment.
Ability to common sense in the safe operation of small equipment in confined areas.
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with supervisors, co-workers, and the general public.
