Chart Industries Regional Category Manager - Indirect in Glasgow, United Kingdom

Exciting Opportunity for a Regional Category Manager.

We are searching for an experienced Regional Category Manager to join our busy team based in Renfrew.

As a Regional Category Manager, you will develop and implement a long-term category strategy to maximise savings, quality, and delivery through the facilitation of a regional network of sourcing associates. Lead negotiations, supplier selection, supplier relationship, stakeholder management, and implementation of contracts across sub-categories. You will serve as the category subject matter expert and partner with budget holders, business leaders and buyers to identify, create and execute strategic sourcing activities in the region.

This is a permanent position working 37 hours per week. We offer hybrid working for this role which will allow you to enjoy the balance of home working and collaboration time with the team in our modern, friendly offices which include free onsite parking.

What Needs To Be Done?

  • Work with European business units to understand their indirect procurement requirements.

  • Define and deploy the regional strategy for indirect materials and services, identify opportunities for crossbusiness collaboration and partner with key suppliers to improve performance and service delivery levels.

  • Create, sustain, and execute a cost reduction action plan for indirect spend to achieve the financial objectives of each business unit.

  • Develop, implement, and sustain a regional supplier tiering strategy to transition spend from non-preferred suppliers to drive cost savings and improve leverage through rationalisation.

  • Act as the category subject matter expert, monitor supply and commodity trends, and advise business units on how to respond to external market factors.

  • Establish category communication network to drive strategy awareness, stakeholder engagement and sourcing compliance for all major sub-categories.

  • Collaborate with the sourcing leadership to identify and implement best practices relating to category management.

  • Develop, implement, and sustain an effective category management operating rhythm driving process efficiency and business results in order to meet targets.

  • Facilitate collaboration across Chart with functional budget holders to support the delivery of their key supply chain performance indicators.

  • Manage all commercial agreements with Tier 1 regional suppliers.

To be successful you must have …

  • Number of years of professional experience in one or more of the following areas: Supply Chain, Engineering, Sourcing or Operations management.

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills at all levels, written and verbal.

  • Extensive experience developing and implementing indirect services / material strategies within a manufacturing environment.

  • Experience of working in a complex matrix organisation across multiple locations, understanding the constraints and working culture within them.

  • Strong influencing and negotiation skills with demonstrated experience in negotiating high value, complex procurement agreements.

  • Knowledge of general business processes with experience in managing projects across multiple facilities.
