Exciting Opportunity for a Project Manager.

We are searching for a Project Manager to join our busy Screw Compressor Package team based in Renfrew.

As a Project Manager, you will lead the execution of Screw Package projects globally. You will manage internal/external resource to ensure successful completion of projects and manage the Howden / Client relationship, manage projects cash flows, budgets, and improve projects margins.

This is a permanent position working 37 hours per week. We offer hybrid working for this role which will allow you to enjoy the balance of home working and collaboration time with the team in our modern, friendly offices which include free onsite parking.

What Needs To Be Done?

  • Lead Screw Package Projects on behalf of the Howden, giving direction to all service providers, to ensure the successful execution of all projects.

  • Act as a single point of contract for client and manage company/client relationship.

  • Co-ordinate, prioritise, monitor, document and ensure cost targets, resource requirements, risks and contingencies are actively managed to ensure the successful delivery of the projects.

  • Manage projects through life cycle from sales handover to delivery to site. Support commissioning activities with information as required.

  • On completion of the bid clarification process procure and maintain the deliveries of equipment in line with the project schedule.

  • Attend all project related meetings, internal and external, to ensure compliance to Howden/Client requirements

  • Co-ordinate with the Package Manager, the release of technical documentation to and from the client and provide prompt resolution of any identified issues.

  • Interpret and implement contract terms & conditions including Letter of Credits’s, performance bonds and invoicing.

  • Manage project cashflows, maintain up-to-date project costs and provide periodic reports on project status and performance to management and the client

  • Resolve issues arising from deviations to original contractual requirements and the control of cost amendments for such deviations.

  • Organise and co-ordinate all delivery and despatch activities.

  • Prepare Project Documentation for handover to Aftermarket/Commissioning Teams.

  • Support cost breakdown structure principles by optimising efficiencies through reduction of costs and improvement of quality and delivery.

To be successful you must have …

  • Excellent and proven knowledge of Project Management methodologies and responsibilities

  • Proven track record in successfully delivering high value, complex, long cycle projects

  • Leadership, communication, negotiating, influencing at all levels and strong inter-personal skills to motivate and lead your project teams, with the drive and commitment to achieve project objectives

  • Ability to lead multiple projects within a global, cross-functional matrix organization

  • Commercial acumen / experience in dealing with clients and suppliers

  • Educated to HND level or equivalent in a relevant discipline

  • Ability to use your initiative, using excellent time management skills to make decisions under pressure

  • Knowledge, understanding and ability to monitor and control budget and schedules

  • Confidence and experience to pro-actively solve problems, think laterally and identify corrective actions

  • Knowledge of HSE practices and requirements
