Our Buying & Procurement Apprenticeship

Over four years, you’ll follow an apprentice programme that will lead you to achieving at least a Level 4 Chartered Institute of Procurement & Supply (CIPS) award. 

What you’ll do:

As a Procurement Apprentice, you’ll learn the skills needed to support the sourcing and management of direct and indirect materials, services, and capital equipment essential to our business operations. Under the guidance of experienced professionals, you’ll :

  • Develop skills in managing purchase orders, ensuring efficient prioritization, accurate documentation, and timely , cost-effective procurement to meet business needs.

  • Learn how to monitor and review contracts, agreements, pricing, and supplier performance to identify opportunities for cost reduction, rationalization, and consolidation within specific spend categories.

  • Build expertise in inventory management by analyzing stock levels, including slow-moving, non-moving, and low-stock items, to optimize inventory processes.

  • Support buyers in coordinating the timely delivery of goods, materials, and services, ensuring adherence to quality standards and agreed terms with suppliers.

  • Gain experience in tracking purchase orders and material/service release orders, communicating with suppliers to confirm or adjust delivery schedules as required .

  • Develop proficiency in using procurement databases, maintaining up-to-date order information, updating delivery dates, and generating reports to support decision-making.

    This apprenticeship provides a fantastic opportunity to learn and grow within a supportive environment, equipping you with the skills and knowledge to succeed in a career in procurement and supply chain management.

    Location: You’ll be based at our Lomondgate facility ( G82 3RG )

    What’s Next After Your Apprenticeship? 

    Upon completing your apprenticeship, you’ll have the opportunity to work at our Lomondgate facility or explore roles at one of our other national or international locations.

  • Qualifications: A minimum of four National 5s at grade C or above, including English and Maths.
