Aerotek Maintenance Mechanic in Gilroy, California

Description:

Maintain and repair all plant equipment for the Food Manufacturing plant, including boiler and wastewater systems, packaging department, and manufacturing food process machinery. The qualified candidate will be a full journeyman in the Maintenance department. Job responsibilities include but not limited to: • Repair and maintain high-speed production equipment • Practice safe work habits and wear proper PPE • Follows proper lockout tag-out procedures as required • Complete all OSHA required training, correct and report any unsafe conditions as necessary • Complete work orders and assignments on time without errors as directed by supervisor or manager • Perform package change-overs on equipment as required • Perform preventive maintenance inspections, adjustments, and repairs as indicated on the CMMS program • Participate in daily meetings and reports maintenance department objectives and opportunities • Install / rebuild equipment • Troubleshoot and repair pneumatic devices and hydraulic systems • Develop preventive maintenance needs and hydraulic systems • Troubleshoot mechanical or electrical problems of food processing and industrial machinery in a timely manner • Independently perform all assignments after being given general instructions as to the results expected • Coordinate several projects at the same time while prioritizing completing demands of the time frames • Perform other duties as assigned

Additional Skills & Qualifications:

• High School Diploma Required • Electrical and mechanical certification is a plus • Must have hands-on knowledge of boiler, mechanical fluid power, pneumatic systems. Familiar with machine shop environment • Must be able to troubleshoot electrical and mechanical problems, repair and maintain all equipment in accordance with the plant’s policies and procedures • Must be able to work with minimal supervision • Must have a good understanding of preventive predictive maintenance operations • Strong verbal skills • Ability and willingness to work 12-hour shifts and the flexibility to work on a flexible full-time schedule and that may include weekends and holidays • Able to walk, stand for extended periods of time, sit and talk or hear regularly • Able to use both hands and fingers to feel or handle, sit for extended periods of time, stand frequently, bend, squat, reach and turn • Able to adapt to temperature changes of extreme hot and cold conditions • Ability to handle heights and confined spaces

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $40.00
