Team Gilbert has an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated professional to fill the position of Water Treatment Plant Mechanic Lead at our San Tan Vista Water Treatment Plant.
The Water Treatment Plant Mechanic Lead report to the Water Treatment Plant Mechanic Supervisor. The primary function of this position is to be tasked with the acquisition of replacement parts and assist in the maintenance and repair of water treatment plant related electric motors, pumps, valves, chemical feed systems, chemical mixers and other related equipment. This requires working closely with and coordinating work with the current instrumentation technicians, plant operators and other personnel, while ensuring the operating continuity of the Water treatment plant. They will be asked to coordinate special projects and participate in Capital improvement projects. The schedule may require them to be available after hours, standby, weekend and Holiday rotations as needed. This position will report directly to the Water Treatment Maintenance Supervisor.
Ideal candidates will be experienced with water treatment plant mechanical maintenance and repair. Also important are attention to detail, strong "repair or replace" decision making skills, and a creative approach to problem solving. Responsible for monitoring and management of the Asset management program "Lucity" and developing and maintaining SOP's. The Desirable personal characteristics include the ability to work well independently and within a team environment.

High School Diploma or equivalent (G.E.D.)
3 years of experience in water treatment and mechanical maintenance and 1 year in fabricating and industrial plumbing.
5 years of experience in water systems and pumps.
3 years of experience in a supervisory or lead position.
Valid Arizona driver's license.
ADEQ Grade 1 Water Treatment Certification and a Grade 1 Water Distribution Certification at the time of hire or promotion.
An ADEQ Grade 2 Water Treatment Certification and a Grade 2 Water Distribution Certification required within 1 year of hire or promotion.
Certification in welding, fabrication or journeymen trades training.
1 year or more of technical training beyond high school in water treatment preferred.
This position is an At-Will position and is FLSA Non-Exempt - eligible for overtime compensation.
