Team Gilbert has an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated professional to fill the position of Senior Accounts Payable Technician.

The Senior Accounts Payable Technician reports to the Accounting Supervisor. The Senior Accounts Payable Technician job performs paraprofessional accounting work such as review of invoices, vendor maintenance, vendor payments and reconciliations. The Senior is the lead technician in accounts payable at the Town. The Senior compiles data and generates reports to meet monthly and annual filing deadlines. The Senior also leads and distributes the work of the Accounts Payable Technicians and provides communications with various internal and external individuals. Incumbents are responsible for creating and/or updating standard operating procedures for internal customers to create a guide for complying with applicable policies and procedures. The Accounts Payable team is responsible for reviewing and approving payment documents for compliance with those policies and procedures, as well as training staff on fiscal policies, procedures, and systems. About You

Candidates for the Accounts Payable Technician Senior position must possess:

  • At least one year of specialized or technical training beyond high school in Accounting, Business Administration, or Finance;

  • 4 years of experience running full cycle Accounts Payable for a large organization and internal and external customer service;

  • 4 years of combined education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job;

  • Knowledge of applicable federal, state, and local laws, rules, and regulations;

  • Knowledge of bookkeeping and customer service principles and practices;

  • Experience in management or leading work-teams;

  • Experience with electronic vendor payments;

  • Skill in conducting research and solving problems;

This position is eligible for a hybrid work schedule with time being split between telecommuting from home and working in the office. Telecommuting privileges are approved at the sole discretion of the supervisor and department management; as such, the department reserves the right to modify or discontinue telecommuting arrangements at any point.

This position is an At-Will position and is FLSA Non-Exempt – eligible for overtime compensation.

This recruitment will run continuously until all positions are filled.
