Edw C Levy Co HR Management Development Associate in Ghent, Kentucky

The Edw. C. Levy Group of Companies is seeking an HR Management Development Associate at our Ghent, KY location.

The purpose of this position is to develop the employee in the management of various human resources functions to cultivate the individual's knowledge of employee relations, talent acquisition, performance management, HR systems and employment related compliance requirements

The Employee will be assigned an operations site, and with the direction of an HR mentor, will provide HR support for that site. The Employee should be able to perform or functionally understand each aspect of assigned jobs within the discipline to progress to HR Manager position.
Salary: $60,000+

Responsibilities
The HR Management Development Associate will:
  • Develops knowledge of the site and its business functions/processes
  • Supports the site's talent acquisition efforts
  • Drafts job descriptions and postings
  • Assists the management team with investigating and documenting employee incidents
  • Drafts disciplinary action in accordance with the site's rules and regulations
  • Reviews compensation adjustments within the guidelines of the site's compensation structure
  • Coaches the management team on how to handle employee related issues including performance management
  • Trains and develops site administrators on HR systems and the use of HR resources
  • Assists with the development of manning and staffing initiatives
  • Manages employee related changes in LevyYou HCM
  • Provides reporting utilizing OTBI and Oracle EBS reporting tools
  • Coordinates leave issues including FMLA with Benefits Team and Site Management
  • Manages employment related compliance issues
  • Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor

Skills
The ideal candidate will have:
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or related years of work experience
  • SPHR, PHR, SHRM-SCP, SHRM-CP a plus
  • General knowledge of employment and labor laws
  • Ability to think strategically
  • Leadership and coach mentality
  • Working knowledge of HR management systems
  • Self-starter with high standards of ethics and conduct
  • Strong business acumen
  • Demonstrated organizational skills
  • Problem solver who can bring innovative and workable solutions
  • Proficient computer skills with knowledge of Microsoft office products and Oracle (preferred)
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to read, write and speak English
  • Ability to travel
  • Valid driver's license
