DRS RADA Technologies, a subsidiary of Leonardo DRS, is focused on proprietary radar solutions and legacy avionics systems supporting the defense industry globally. The company is a global pioneer of AESA tactical radars for active military protection, counter-drone applications, critical infrastructure protection, and border surveillance.

Job Summary

We are seeking a Technical Intern – Systems Engineering Analyst for Summer 2025. This in-person internship in Germantown, Maryland, offers hands-on experience in radar performance analysis. Assignments may include investigations of radar cross section measurement, radar performance against drone swarms, and AI classification performance. Interns will gain valuable knowledge in radar function and performance, radar analysis, drone piloting, and signal processing, working alongside experienced engineers on cutting-edge projects.

Ideal candidates are Master’s level students in Systems Engineering, Software Engineering, or Electrical Engineering, with a strong interest in radar systems, AI, and autonomous platforms. This is an exciting opportunity to apply analytical skills to real-world defense technologies.

Job Responsibilities

• Work closely with and assist engineers in the conduct of various engineering assignments

• Carry out basic work instructions that will help in understanding the fundamentals of the Company and also learn new things

• Conduct limited scope testing under the supervision of engineers

• Complete assigned tasks on time

• Gather and assemble data for engineers

• May be required to help in research in a particular field

• Conduct design analysis and/or calculations under the supervision of engineers

• Assist engineers with appropriate design details

• Must have good interpersonal skills and have the ability to build a good network

• Perform a wide variety of tasks to gain familiarity with the engineering staff, methods, programs and practices

• Support, communicate, reinforce and defend the mission, values and culture of the organization

• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Current Master's student in Systems Engineering, Software Engineering, or Electrical Engineering

  • Must have good interpersonal skills and have the ability to build a good network

  • Must be diligent, hardworking, and quick to learn

  • Able to commute to Germantown, Maryland daily (this is an in-person role)

U.S. Citizenship required.

The expected pay scale for this position is $23/hour - $25/hour. Should the level, location, or scope of the position change during the hiring process, the pay scale may be modified accordingly.
