This role reports to the Director of Surgery.
An innovator in minimally invasive surgery, Holy Cross Hospital was first in Montgomery County to offer robotic surgery with the da Vinci ® surgical system.
Responsibilities :
The Ortho Spine Lead Nurse plans and delivers patient care for ortho spine patients.
Perform scrub functions including selection and handling of instruments and supplies during procedures
Educate patients and family.
Plan continuum of care.
What you will need
Required:
Graduation from an accredited nursing program
Baccalaureate in Nursing (BSN) required.
Current licensure by the Maryland State Board of Nursing or Compact State as a Registered Nurse.
BLS certification (American Heart Association); additional Life Support training as applicable to unit requirements.
Must have ortho / spine experience
Should be able to circulate for surgical cases
Should be able to scrub and set up rooms for upcoming surgical cases
A good knowledge of ortho / spine equipment, instruments and supplies required
Preferred:
- MSN preferred
