Description :

• Using the Quality Caring Model, the Ortho Spine Lead Nurse demonstrates expertise in performance and application of the nursing process to plan and manage the care of patients.

• This role reports to the Director of Surgery.

Responsibilities :

• The Ortho Spine Lead Nurse plans and delivers patient care for ortho spine patients.

• Perform scrub functions including selection and handling of instruments and supplies during procedures

• Educate patients and family.

• Plan continuum of care.

What you will need

Required:

• Graduation from an accredited nursing program

• Baccalaureate in Nursing (BSN) required.

• Current licensure by the Maryland State Board of Nursing or Compact State as a Registered Nurse.

• BLS certification (American Heart Association); additional Life Support training as applicable to unit requirements.

• Must have ortho / spine experience

• Should be able to circulate for surgical cases

• Should be able to scrub and set up rooms for upcoming surgical cases

• A good knowledge of ortho / spine equipment, instruments and supplies required

Preferred:

• MSN preferred
