We are seeking the immediate hire of a Residential/Combination Building Inspector for our office in Braselton, Georgia.
The successful candidate will work under the direction of the Northeast Area Inspection Manager. They will be responsible for performing daily inspections on residential and commercial construction projects and other assignments as directed.
Duties & Responsibilities
Performs scheduled assignments between the hours of 8:00am and 5:00pm Monday –Friday
Completes daily duties responsibly and safely with respect to private and personal property.
Readily communicates with staff, citizens, teammates, and builder/contractors as necessary.
Maintains detailed records and reports of all inspections and compliance cases.
Assists client staff and team members whenever necessary.
Updates files, answers phone calls, and schedules inspections as necessary.
Maintains ICC certifications and professional credentials. Secures additional ICC certifications, attends training opportunities, and consistently studies codes and standards as related to work requirements.
Requirements:
We will consider any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience which provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities needed for this job.
Education: A high school diploma or equivalent is required. We prefer supplemental additional training in building inspection, structural engineering, or a related field. An Associate's Degree in engineering, architecture, building inspection, or related field, or equivalent ICC certification level is a plus.
Experience: Minimum (3) years’ experience as a residential construction inspector is required. We prefer at least one (1) year of this experience to be focused on erosion and sediment control inspections.
Certifications: ICC Residential Combination Inspector (required). ICC Commercial Inspector Combination (preferred). GSWCC Level IB Inspector (preferred).
Must have a valid Georgia driver's license.
Required Knowledge, Abilities, & Skills:
Strong knowledge of building and related municipal codes, building inspection methods and techniques and construction materials, methods and techniques.
Understanding of erosion and sedimentation control laws and Best Management Practices.
Excellent communication skills, both written and oral.
Ability to operate work-related technology (laptop, tablet, iPhone) and software such as Microsoft Word and Excel.
Capable of following directions and asking pertinent clarifying questions.
Maintains a professional appearance, attitude, and conduct.
Self- disciplined and able to work without direct supervision. Works well with people and performs as a member of a team in a fast-paced environment.
Solves problems and has a positive attitude while establishing and maintaining relationships.

The starting wage range for this role commences at $26/hour, which is subject to potential increases that are contingent on factors like experience, education, licenses, or certifications.
