Aerotek Wiring Technician in Georgetown, Texas

Wiring Technician II Weekly Pay $24-$28/hr

Job Description

Under the general direction of a Work Center Manager, the Wiring Technician II is responsible for completing electrical wiring projects on assigned crane assemblies. The Wiring Tech II is capable of fulfilling all requirements of Wiring Tech I. Additionally, the Wiring Tech II will perform more advanced troubleshooting and may facilitate training of other employees in electrical wiring skills. The role may involve performing Assembler duties in any work center as required. Responsibilities include preparing trucks for wiring, building sub-assemblies, and installing wiring onto cranes. The technician will develop an understanding of the company's policies and practices.

Skills and Qualifications

  • Knowledge of vehicle wiring

  • Ability to identify electrical circuits

  • Completes terminal crimping for a variety of contact types

  • Hands-on ability – works mainly in the shop and sometimes at the computer

  • Installs various wires, connections, relays, fuses, etc.

  • Assembles, installs, tests, and maintains electrical and electronic wiring, equipment, apparatus, and fixtures, using hand tools and power tools

  • Diagnoses malfunctioning systems, apparatus, and components using test equipment and hand tools

  • Drafts and updates instruction manuals for electrical wiring

  • Performs all types of wiring and electrical troubleshooting, sometimes working from schematics and/or wiring diagrams

Job Type

This is a Contract-to-Hire position with a duration of 960 Hour(s).

Work Site

This is a fully on-site position in Georgetown, Texas.

Work Environment

Moderate to loud noise levels from power tools and welding equipment. Two-thirds or more of the workday is spent working near mechanical moving parts and one-third in outdoor weather including wet or humid conditions.
