Tidelands Health Radiology Technologist Assistant in Georgetown, South Carolina

Position Summary : The primary responsibility of this position is to produce high quality radiographic procedures and related techniques, producing images for the interpretation by, and at the request of, a licensed independent practitioner under the guidance of a Radiologist Technologist.

Responsibilities & Functions

  • Obtains patient's clinical history and appropriate lab work ensuring information is documented and available for use by a licensed practitioner; verifies informed consent and completes pre and post procedure documentation.

  • Position and immobilize patient to best demonstrate anatomic area of interest, respecting patient ability and comfort.

  • Performs radiographic procedures by selecting and operating imaging equipment, and/or associated accessories to successfully perform procedures.

  • Assists licensed practitioner with fluoroscopic and specialized radiography procedures. Applies appropriate aseptic surgical technique as needed. Identifies, prepares and/or administers medications/contrast as prescribed by a licensed practitioner.

  • Performs timeout as required per policy.

  • Evaluates images for technical quality.

  • Provides patient education.

  • Transports patients as necessary.

  • Restock rooms and maintain cleanliness of work area.

QUALIFICATIONS

Experience/Education :

-Must be entering second year of a JRCERT accredited School of Radiography

Licensure/Certification :

-American Heart Association Healthcare provider course with Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required to be initially completed with the TH Organizational Development Office within 30 calendar days of hire date (exceptions to obtain certification from a provider other than the TH Organizational Development Office are approved by TH Organizational development on a case by case basis). BLS Recertification is required every two (2) years.

-Must hold South Carolina Limited License

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities :

  • Demonstrated ability to set and maintain multiple priorities in an environment with shifting priorities, while providing accurate deliverables in a timely fashion

  • Must be self-motivated, and able to take ownership of projects/assignments

  • Must be a team player with excellent follow-up and customer service skills

  • Strong interpersonal, verbal, and writing skills

  • Interpersonal skills in dealing with patients and team members

Physical Requirements : Medium Physical Agility Test (PAT) Rating

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently (activity or condition exists from 1/3 to 2/3 of the time) required to stand, sit, and walk; occasionally (activity or condition exists up to 1/3 of the time) to use hands, fingers; and frequently to talk or hear. The employee must exert 20 to 35 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 15 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
