Finger Lakes Health Registered Nurse - RN in Geneva, New York

  • POSITION SUMMARY:

  • The Registered Nurse applies knowledge of nursing theory, technical, and communication skills in delivering high quality compassionate care to patients and families. The Registered Professional Nurse assesses patient need, develops a plan of care in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team, provides direct care, evaluates patient progress, and coordinates the care delivery throughout the patient’s episode. The Registered Nurse on 2 West develops specialized skill in the area of Cardiac Care including telemetry monitoring. The Registered Nurse on 2 West also provides care to adult adolecent and geriatric populations with medical and/or surgical conditions. The 2 West RN is accountable for patient family education to assist in understanding self care beyond hospitalization, including lifestyle changes to support health and healing. The 2 West Registered Nurse is expected to promote comfort and provide emotional support in a Healing Environment.

  • QUALIFICATIONS:

  • EDUCATION:

  • Minimum :

  • Graduate of an Accredited School of Registered Professional Nursing

  • Preferred :

  • BSN

  • LICENSE:

  • Minimum :

  • Current NYS license or Limited Permit to practice as a Registered Professional Nurse.

  • PROFESSIONAL CERTIFICATIONS:

  • Minimum :

  • BLS, ACLS, and PALS required through the RQI system during clinical orientation.

  • Basic Coronary Care obtained within 6 months of hire.

  • CPI within one year of hire into this position.

  • WORK EXPERIENCE:

  • Preferred :

  • One year of successful performance as a RN in medical/surgical environment.

  • SKILLS:

  • Minimum :

  • Interpersonal skills which ensure effective communication with patients, families, and other members of the healthcare team.

  • Analytical skills to assess, prepare, implement, and evaluate the outcomes of the plan of care.

  • Demonstrated ability to handle confidential information with discretion and ability to deal with the people in a professional and courteous manner.

  • Ability to meet deadlines, manage multiple priorities and enhance the spirit of teamwork through effective role modeling.

  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and organization skills.

  • Computer literacy

  • Preferred :

  • Experience with Microsoft Office products and electronic medical record

  • Salary Range: $37.34-$41.77
