Finger Lakes Health Registered Nurse - RN in Geneva, New York

  • POSITION SUMMARY:

  • The Registered Nurse applies knowledge of nursing theory, technical, and communication skills in delivering high quality compassionate care to patients and families. The Registered Professional Nurse assesses patient need, develops a plan of care in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team, provides direct care, evaluates patient progress, and coordinates the care delivery throughout the patient’s episode. The RN on 3 North develops specialized skill in the area of patient admitted for medical conditions. He/She provides care to adult, adolescent, and geriatric populations with medical conditions. The 3 North RN is accountable for patient family education to assist in understanding self care beyond hospitalization, including lifestyle changes to support health and healing. The 3 North Registered Nurse is expected to promote comfort and provide emotional support in a Healing Environment.

  • QUALIFICATIONS:

  • EDUCATION:

  • Minimum :

  • Graduate of an Accredited School of Professional Nursing.

  • Preferred :

  • BSN

  • LICENSE:

  • Minimum :

  • Current NYS license or Limited Permit to practice as a Registered Professional Nurse.

  • PROFESSIONAL CERTIFICATIONS:

  • Minimum :

  • BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications required through the RQI system during clinical orientation.

  • CPI within one year of hire into this position.

  • WORK EXPERIENCE:

  • Preferred:

  • One year of successful performance as a RN in medical/surgical environment.

  • SKILLS:

  • Minimum :

  • Interpersonal skills which ensure effective communication with patients, families, and other members of the healthcare team.

  • Analytical skills to assess, prepare, implement, and evaluate the outcomes of the plan of care.

  • Demonstrated ability to handle confidential information with discretion and ability to deal with the people in a professional and courteous manner.

  • Ability to meet deadlines, manage multiple priorities and enhance the spirit of teamwork through effective role modeling.

  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and organization skills.

  • Computer literacy

  • Preferred :

  • Experience with Microsoft Office products and electronic medical record

  • Salary Range: $38.37-$43.45
