Finger Lakes Health Registered Nurse - RN in Geneva, New York

  • POSITION SUMMARY:

  • Under the Supervision of the Director of Diagnostics and the Chief Radiologist, and in accordance with the approved policies and procedures, the Interventional Radiology Nurse provides quality nursing care in an effort to promote comfort and healing and achieve the best possible clinical outcomes. The Registered Professional Nurse will: Maintain patient confidentiality, Use the nursing process and approved nursing standards to provide safe and successful quality care, Provide ongoing education to both the patient and their families, Maintain an appropriate level of knowledge and clinical expertise through continuing education/inservice programs/departmental competencies/self development activities, and Work as part of the multi-disciplinary team to provide quality patient care.

  • QUALIFICATIONS:

  • EDUCATION:

  • Minimum:

  • Graduate of accredited school of professional nursing.

  • Preferred:

  • Advanced degree in related field.

  • LICENSE:

  • Minimum:

  • Current NYS license.

  • PROFESSIONAL CERTIFICATIONS:

  • Minimum:

  • BLS & ACLS certifications required through the RQI system during clinical orientation.

  • Coronary Care obtained within six months of hire.

  • WORK EXPERIENCE:

  • Minimum:

  • One year of critical care experience.

  • Ability to perform technical aspects of position.

  • Position requires excellent communication skills and demonstrated ability to deal with the public in a professional and courteous manner.

  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.

  • Preferred :

  • Experience in interventional radiology/ICU/ED area.

  • SKILLS:

  • Minimum:

  • Moderate sedation competency within six months of hire into this position.

  • Ability to facilitate project management, work effectively under pressure, meet deadlines, manage multiple priorities and enhance the spirit of teamwork through effective role modeling.

  • Familiarity with JCAHO requirements.

  • Excellent leadership, interpersonal, communication (written and oral), analytical, and organizational skills.

  • Demonstrated ability to deal effectively with the public in a professional and courteous manner. Computer literacy.

  • Preferred:

  • Experience with Microsoft Office products including word, excel and power point.
