Kindred Fare - A Spirited Cookeryis a full-service restaurant located in the heart of the Finger Lakes with a focus on scratch cookery using seasonal & local ingredients. We have been featured in Forbes, Wine Spectator, Eater, and have won "Best Farm to Table Restaurant" four years in a row by The Finger Lakes Times Readers' Choice Awards. On Monday nights our culinary team works together to build a three-course themed prix fixe, something our community looks forward to each week. Experienced Line Cook:
We are currently seeking a hardworking individual to join our kitchen team for both preparation & service. As a scratch kitchen, we take pride in our commitment to quality, which means some tasks may require a little extra effort—but we believe it's worth it, & our guests agree!
In this role, you will work under the guidance of our Executive Chef and Executive Sous Chef. We are specifically looking for someone withbaking and pastry skillswho works alongside our pastry chef to help elevate our dessert offerings, plating & enhance our menu. Additionally, candidates should be well-versed in various areas of the line such as grill, pantry, and sauté, ensuring flexibility & adaptability in a fast-paced kitchen environment.

Requirements
What we expect from you:
4+ years of previous kitchen experience - high-end & high-volume setting preferred
An updated resume showing a history of long term tenure with current or previous employers
Culinary skills in multiple areas of the kitchen & on the line including:
Efficient prep skills of vegetables, proteins & sauces
Ability to follow a recipe and adapt, as needed
Animal & fish butcher
Pantry
Fryer
Baking and pastry skills to assist our pastry chef (essential)
Sauté & grill
Proficiency in moving between different stations on the line as needed
Strong baking & pastry skills to contribute to our dessert menu & enhance overall offerings
Stay current & creative with culinary & hospitality trends
Present new ideas for menus, presentation, and improving current dishes, including pastry & dessert items
Strong time management skills on the line and in prep work
Be an active listener & problem solver, communicate effectively with all teammates
Professionalism: remain composed & communicate clearly with your teammates
Adaptability to our open kitchen environment, understanding we are "on stage" at all times
Full-time or part-time availability & willingness to be flexible with our team as needed
Dependable job history with open availability 5-7 days a week. We are open Sunday - Saturday from 5pm-9pm
Shifts generally start at 2pm & end around 10pm, with break time.
Maintain a clean & organized environment in all areas of the kitchen
ServSafe Certification preferred, but not required (we will pay for your training)

Salary Description
$24-$28 per hour based on experience
