Avangrid Service Company Electric Field Representative in Geneva, New York
POSITION - Union: Electric Field RepresentativeNUMBER OF OPEN POSITIONS: 1LOCATION: NY - GenevaHOURLY RATE: $49.44-$50.44A. Duties: Under directive supervision, performs work related to electric field planning.Typical Duties:Gives single-phase service entrance locations; prepares service orders and related routine work orders. Inspects service entrance installations before connection with Company lines.Makes field checks; collects load and voltage data and prepares related routine work orders for minor changes or additions to the distribution system.Sets and removes instruments to measure and record current, and voltage such as recording voltmeters and ammeters.Has contacts with customers and contractors while investigating minor complaints about service such as low voltage and radio or TV interference.May check and report on work done by contractors.May do field work in connection with guarding against hazards and encroachments, and distribute routine notices to contractors and others involved in these matters.May assist Electric Field Planners. May participate in restoring service interrupted by storms.Does other related or less skilled work as required.B. Experience, Education and Special Information Required:Should have had at least two years' experience with the Company in electric operations.Must be a high school graduate.Must have a working knowledge of electrical fundamentals as demonstrated by an appropriate test.Must learn to use instruments for measuring and recording current voltage.Must also become familiar with Company rules and regulations applying to service and meter installations, applicable codes and safety rules and local ordinances governing electrical wiring.Must have current New York State automobile operator's license.C.
