Aerotek Machine Technician in Geneva, Illinois

Job Title: Machine Technician

Job Description

As a Machine Technician, you will respond to repairs and maintain equipment throughout the facility. Your responsibilities include completing scheduled preventative maintenance, coordinating work with outside vendors, and supporting the maintenance team on project work. You will adhere to food industry GMPs and utilize various shop tools such as grinders, drills, sanders, and wrenches. Your role involves troubleshooting electrical systems, assembling pumps and motors, and working with gearboxes, airlocks, and pressure pumps. You will also engage in welding, fabricating, and HVAC tasks as required.

Job Type

This is a Contract-to-Hire position with a duration of 6 Month(s).

Work Site

This is a fully on-site position in Geneva, Illinois.

Work Environment

This position is available for 2nd shift with a 10% pay differential, maxing out at $33/hr. 2nd shift hours range from 4pm to 2am or 3pm to 1am, with some mandatory work on Saturdays. Overtime will rotate, and you will not have to work every weekend. Expectations include working 4-6 hours on Sundays starting between 8-10am. The production area is a dusty environment with strong smells. The facility offers excellent amenities including clean locker rooms with showers, a café/break room, a fitness center, and other employee amenities. Company-paid meals and other benefits are provided occasionally.
