Lead Controls Engineer

The ideal candidate will be responsible for leading the automation team, managing project workloads, and ensuring the successful delivery of automation solutions for our pharmaceutical manufacturing equipment. The Automation Lead Engineer will play a crucial role in driving innovation, improving operational efficiency, and maintaining the highest standards of quality in our automation processes. Responsibilities include:

Team Leadership:

  • Lead and mentor a team of automation engineers, fostering a collaborative and high-performance work environment.

  • Provide guidance, support, and training to team members to enhance their skills and knowledge in automation technologies.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of automation solutions with other engineering disciplines.

    Project Management:

  • Oversee the end-to-end project lifecycle, from conception to completion, ensuring timely and successful delivery of automation projects.

  • Develop project plans, allocate resources, and manage project budgets to meet organizational goals.

  • Coordinate with internal stakeholders and external partners to gather requirements and ensure project alignment with business objectives.

Additional Responsibilities:

Controls System Design and Implementation:

Lead the design and implementation of automation systems for pharmaceutical manufacturing equipment, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements.

Collaborate with the R&D team to integrate the latest automation technologies into our equipment, driving continuous improvement and innovation.

Quality Assurance:

Establish and enforce quality assurance processes to ensure the reliability, safety, and compliance of automation solutions.

Conduct thorough testing and validation of automation systems to meet industry standards and customer specifications .

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or a related field.

  • Minimum of 5 years in a leadership role within automation engineering, preferably in the pharmaceutical or related industry.

  • Strong project management skills with a track record of successful project delivery.

  • Knowledge of automation technologies, Allen Bradley PLCs and I/O, Siemens PLCS and I/O, GE iFIX SCADA systems, FactoryTalk View ME HMIs, and industrial communication protocols.

  • Software: Studio5000, FactoryTalk View ME, Siemens TIA Portal.

  • Familiarity with regulatory requirements and standards in the pharmaceutical industry.

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.

  • Work in compliance with divisional health, safety and environmental procedures

  • Refrain from removing or altering safety devices or guarding unless hazardous energies are controlled through lockout-tagout methods

  • Report any unsafe conditions or unsafe acts

  • Report defect in any equipment or protective device

  • Ensure that the required protective equipment is used for the assigned tasks

  • Attend all required health, safety and environmental training

  • Report any accidents/incidents to supervisor

  • Assist in investigating accidents/incidents

  • Refrain from engaging in any prank, contest, feat of strength, unnecessary running or rough and boisterous conduct
