JOB SUMMARY:

The Assistant Director of Postgraduate Psychotherapy Center manages all aspects of the Center’s clinical and administrative services.

SALARY INFORMATION:

In compliance with New York’s Pay Transparency Act, the salary range for this hourly position is $32.00 - $38.00 per hour. Adelphi University considers factors such as departmental budgets, scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate’s work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, as well as market and organizational considerations when extending an offer. The above hiring range represents the University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting. An annual base salary higher than the range may be warranted in circumstances where a candidate has demonstrable equivalent prior higher education experience at another University.

RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES:

  1. Referrals and clinical assignments: 40%

    a. Monitor all incoming patient calls.

    b. Contact those seeking treatment, perform a Triage Interview and establish patient fee.

    c. Assist those deemed not appropriate for treatment at the Center in finding referrals outside of the Center.

    d. Assign intakes to candidates.

    e. Assign patient referrals to candidates.

    1. Didactics: 15%

    a. Attend intake seminars at least 2 times per month.

    b. Collaborate with Programs’ Director about the syllabus.

    c. Review of Triage and Intake summaries presented by candidates during Intake Seminars, as well as assist in case conceptualization.

    1. Administration; 40%

    a. Monitor candidates’ paperwork making sure intake reports and consent forms are up to date.

    b. Oversee administrative assistant responsibilities.

    c. Review patient fee collections and payments to candidates.

    1. Marketing : 5%

    a. Promote and help advertise the Center to garner more referrals.

    EDUCATIONAL/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

  • The Postgraduate Psychotherapy Center Director must be a licensed psychologist preferably a certified psychoanalyst or a psychoanalyst in training.
