We have an exciting opportunity to join our Galway team as a Buyer Planner.

The Buyer Planner will be responsible for the co-ordination and execution of all activities related to the planning and purchase of excipients, devices and components, by converting the output of the Master Schedule (MRP) for production needs into material requirements to ensure availability of the right quantity when needed. This role will form an integral part of a team which optimizes the flow of materials (order to release) while considering warehouse capacities and inventory targets.

As our Buyer Planner, you’ll support HID’s success by:

  • Executing the output of the Materials Requirement Plan, effective procurement & inventory practices and optimizing the balance between quality, service, reliability and cost to ensure that customer satisfaction while maintaining compliance.

  • Collaborating with cross-departmental teams, co-ordinating & managing the supplier and materials purchasing process with supplier agreements and contracts put in place when & where applicable.

  • Collaborating with Warehouse Administration for Stock reconciliation and Kanban optimization.

  • Planning material delivery schedules with suppliers to meet planned sales requirements.

  • Maintaining Raw Materials and Component inventories within target, while minimizing excess, obsolete and expired materials.

  • Liaising with suppliers to clarify potential constraints and interface between supplier and the key internal stakeholders to ensure issue resolution.

  • Partnering with Global Procurement to drive Supplier performance improvement, including quality and on-time delivery in line with production requirements.

  • Leading Supplier quality efforts across Deviation, Investigation, Change notifications with support from the Operations teams onsite.

  • Maintaining metrics to allow performance evaluation and identify opportunities for continuous improvement.

    What we will love about your background:

  • 3-5 year's experience in a Buyer Planner or related role. Ideally, in a high-volume warehouse/distribution environment within an international company / setting

  • Problem solving expertise in driving continuous improvements in scheduling, logistics, expediting and purchasing processes

  • Hands-on experience with materials handling

  • Experience working with freight forwarders & their systems e.g. FedEx, UPS

  • Direct experience coordinating international imports & exports

  • Strong attention to detail, organizational, and communication skills.

  • Flexible attitude towards work and working hours as required

    Your Experience and Education include:

  • Certificate/Diploma/Degree in a related discipline, or IPICS / IIPMM. Appropriate qualification in either Purchasing/ Production Planning to minimum L7.

  • At least two years' experience in supply chain/production planning.
