Job Description:

To provide the technical skills required to generate, modify, and maintain computer operating system software and application system software within well-defined limits.

Job Summary:

Under general direction, this position is responsible for providing basic to intermediate support for a range of enterprise-level security systems and programs including client support, network and communication infrastructure, public safety communications, and information security. Also assist in providing solutions to problems utilizing more efficient operational procedures, workflow, and information technology solutions.

This position is job security sensitive and will require the ability to pass the following:

• 5 panel drug test

• Thorough background check

• Federal Department of Justice (DOJ) background check

• Polygraph

Major Responsibilities :

• Troubleshoot issues related to enterprise-level security systems.

• Assist in the analysis of operating system problems defined by a software systemspecialist of higher grade, providing 24/7 support.

• Assist in the design of test jobs and files, and performs programming and testing.

• Performs quality assurance testing for software module upgrades/changes. Analyzes results to ensure that software performs as required.

• Create documentation and maintain system data sets and catalogs utilizing Excel,Word, and other Microsoft programs.

• Apply advanced troubleshooting techniques to provide unique solutions depending on thecustomer use case.

• Perform hands-on fixes at the desktop level, including installing and upgrading software,implementing file backups, and configuring systems.

• Adheres to internal controls and reporting structure for established department.

• Performs related duties as directed by senior specialist.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Lenel access control enterprise system,

• Genetec video management systems,

• Video analytics systems

• AXIS, Sony, and Bosch camera systems.

• Experience in a distinct functional or cross-functional security areas(e.g., personal, physical, security, law enforcement, computer investigations).

• Previous experience in a software support position, or in a position that demonstrates systems knowledge and experience.

Working Environment:

• This position is primarily performed in a standard office environment. However, it can involve outside or remote work depending on the project/assignment.

• Departmental issued uniform is required to be worn and adherence to department grooming policy.

• A Valid Driver’s license is required due to occasional travel between UTMB campuses using departmental vehicles.

Physical Job Requirements:

• Ability to move equipment weighing up to 50lbs

• Ability to ascend and descend ladders and stairs

• Ability to work in confined spaces and in proximity to loud equipment

Salary:

$60,880 - $90,000 annually
