Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in basic science or equivalent; no experience required.

Job Description:

Performs varying standardized laboratory assignments and experiments.

Job Duties:

  • Participating in the daily activities and work assignments of research staff.

  • May train new students.

  • Planning and coordinating complex research experiments following standard operating procedures.

  • Working with Principal Investigator(s) to coordinate project activities and establish appropriate reporting procedures.

  • Contributing to scientific analysis and interpretation of projects.

  • Establishing and maintaining quality control measures for assigned project operations.

  • Making modifications to research procedures in collaboration with the Principal Investigator(s) and contributing to the writing of SOPs and protocols.

  • May participate in quality control of experiments performed by of junior staff.

  • Ensuring the accurate calibration and operation of a variety of laboratory equipment as defined by appropriate guidelines.

  • Adhering to internal controls established for department.

  • Performing related duties as required.

  • Ensuring, together with all members of the Laboratory, that biosafety rules are respected at all times.

Preferred Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Microbiology, Molecular Biology, Biotechnology or similar

Skills:

  • Standard Microbiology Techniques

  • Standard Molecular Biology Techniques

  • Data Collection

  • Data Analysis

  • Technical Writing Experience

Salary Range:

Commensurate with Experience
