Minimum Qualifications:

Associate's degree or equivalent and 2 years related experience.

Job Summary:

To provide administrative guidance and technical support in the coordination of grants and contracts.

Job Duties:

  • Provide assistance to principal investigators in the preparation of complex grants and contract proposals including formatting of proposals and utilization of reference software.

  • Assist with the preparation and analysis of financial reports, specifically those related to grant accounts by faculty member and expense category with the goals of assuring that expenses are charged appropriately, that no account is in deficit, that all employees are properly sourced, and that PIs are informed.

  • Assist with the monitoring, reviewing, and supervision of time and effort reporting and certification.

  • Advise principal investigators regarding grant applications, deadlines, and projections for future research funds.

  • Assist principal investigators with annual progress reports and grant submissions.

  • Seek funding opportunities for investigators based on their areas of expertise and interest.

  • Furnish information and guidance as to the use and content of University and grantor/contractor forms.

  • Review completed applications and contracts for accuracy and compliance with the requirements of the University and funding agency.

  • Review and make recommendations on proposed budget changes to determine whether such changes are permissible under the terms of the grants or contracts.

  • Administer and maintain the disbursements of grants pertaining to budgetary guidelines including personnel sourcing.

  • Complete and submit progress reports.

  • Enter data in grants database.

  • Serve as liaison between the Department and sponsored projects administration.

  • Perform related duties as required.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Prior experience with Grants & Contracts.

  • Attention to detail and deadlines.

  • Ability to maintain confidentiality.

  • Experience with Peoplesoft FMS, InfoEd, and Effort Reporting.

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and multitask accordingly.

  • Ability to communicate across organizational levels and platforms.

  • Ability to adapt to new software programs and changing environments.

Salary Range:

Commensurate with experience.
