We are currently accepting resumes & applications for the following position, located at our Galion, Ohio location: Inpatient Pharmacy Supervisor / Charge Pharmacist JOB SUMMARY: The charge pharmacist is a staffing and supervisory role responsible for supervising pharmacy staff and operations, ensuring that the pharmacy provides optimal service on a daily basis. The charge pharmacist facilitates the implementation and maintenance of systems that promote desirable patient outcomes through safe, appropriate, cost-effective medication therapies. In addition to personnel and operational oversight, the charge pharmacist routinely staffs pharmacist roles within the department. Duties while staffing include: interpreting physician prescriptions and medication orders; acting as a drug information resource to patients, medical staff, nursing staff and ancillary department personnel; providing clinical consultation and clarification to practitioners; recommending evidence-based medication therapy regimens and monitoring plans; and suggesting appropriate, cost-effective therapeutic alternatives to medical staff as needed. The charge pharmacist will also oversee compounding (sterile and non-sterile) and dispensing of prescribed medications and other pharmaceuticals ranging from hazardous to non-hazardous medications. Job Requirements: • Current Pharmacist licensure in good standing in the State of Ohio• Graduated from an accredited School of Pharmacy• Doctor of Pharmacy degree or Bachelor of Science degree or equivalent• Inpatient Health System pharmacy experience required (3-5 years preferred) Preferred: • Management training or equivalent managerial experience preferred • Completion of an accredited Pharmacy Practice Residency preferred • Clinical Pharmacist experience preferred #2609 IND1 Avita Health System is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
