EchoStar has an exciting opportunity in our Hughes Network Systems division for a Data Science Intern . This position will be located at our Gaithersburg, MD office.

Responsibilities:

• Write code, analyze data, and will be responsible for developing dashboards, applying machine learning methods, such as clustering, classification, and Linear and Logistic regression.

• Contribute directly to a project, you will work with, and be mentored by, an engineering team consisting of other ML, data and software engineers.

• Become familiar with DevOps principles to continuously deliver high-quality software.

• Work with Docker to develop and deploy containerized versions of models.

• Collect statistics from the routers /modems at a higher interval than is done currently, process data for anomalies and report on any system anomalies

• Visualization and Reporting - Create dashboards, charts, and visualizations to communicate insights effectively.

• Prepare reports and presentations to share findings with the team and stakeholders.

• Contribute ideas and solutions to data-driven challenges.

Basic Requirements:

• Currently enrolled in a bachelor's program

• Must have 60 credit hours completed by June 2025

• 3.0 GPA or above

Preferred Qualifications:

• Machine learning techniques and predictive analytics (e.g., deep learning, regression, classification, clustering, unsupervised learning)

• Ability to work with integrated development environments, such as Jupyter notebook, PyCharm, and Visual Studio Code

• Ability to consume or interface with cloud computing and storage services, including Amazon Web Services (AWS), Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud

• Familiarity or desire to become familiar with containerization technologies, such as Docker, Kubernetes

• Experience with relational DBs

• Experience with Linux & Windows OS

• Experience with Agile development methodologies

• Experience with IOT and MQTT technologies

• Experience with Python
