Randstad Federal is seeking a Data Engineer in support of a federal program at IRS

location: Gaithersburg, Maryland

job type: Contract

salary: $65 - 75 per hour

work hours: 8am to 4pm

education: Bachelors

responsibilities:

Seeking Data Engineer to join our team and play a pivotal role in building and maintaining our data processing and infrastructure. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in SQL, Python, and cloud technologies. Experience with identity management and control flow is a plus.

Resource Skillset should include:

  • Active IRS MBI Clearance required.

  • 5+ years working with specified software language as a developer

  • 2+ years using Rational Team Concert or equivalent toolset

  • Demonstrated Control-M experience (for ETL developers)

  • Hands on Greenplum Experience Development PM is considered key personnel

  • strong proficiency in SQL for data manipulation and analysis.

  • Experience with Python programming for data processing and automation.

  • Solid understanding of cloud computing platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure).

  • Knowledge of data warehousing and data lake concepts.

  • Experience with identity management and control flow (preferred).

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

  • strong problem-solving and analytical skills.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Design, develop, and maintain robust data pipelines to efficiently extract, transform, and load (ETL) data from various sources into our data warehouse or data lake.

  • Develop and implement data quality checks and monitoring processes to ensure data accuracy and integrity.

  • Collaborate with data analysts and scientists to understand data requirements and translate them into technical solutions.

  • Leverage cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, GCP, Azure) to build scalable and cost-effective data solutions.

  • Implement data governance and security best practices to protect sensitive information.

  • Troubleshoot data-related issues and provide timely solutions.

  • Stay up-to-date with the latest data engineering technologies and trends.

Professional Skills:

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills with client stakeholders at all organizational and technical levels.

  • Excellent time management.

  • Ability to contribute to a high-performing, motivated workgroup by ing interpersonal and collaboration skills to achieve project goals.

  • Experience with Microsoft products (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, SharePoint)
