Responsibilities Working as an Administrative Support Assistant (OA), you will perform a full range of clerical and administrative support assistant duties for the Office of Information Systems Management (OISM) with minimum supervision, including areas such as financial, travel, bankcard, event scheduling, human resources, time and attendance, and other general administrative activities consistent with programmatic objectives of NIST; collaborate with other administrative staff within OISM and outside OISM to keep administrative policies and guidelines up to date to ensure an efficient operation. Uses judgment of administrative guidelines to keep supervisor and OISM leadership apprised of issues/concerns. Work with varied levels of staff within OISM, NIST, other Federal Agencies, and the public. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications To qualify for the Administrative Support Assistant (OA), ZS-IV position, applicants must meet one of the following: One year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-6 (ZS-III Ifor NIST). Specialized experience is defined experience as providing a variety of administrative support activities utilizing automated electronic and computer systems. In addition to the above minimum qualification requirements, applicants must be able to type 40 wpm. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
