Summary
This position is a part of the Student Affairs team and is responsible for the daily operations of three residence halls with an occupancy of 150 residents, establishing and maintaining a positive living and learning environment for students, and providing a positive presence on campus through this 12-month, live-in position.
The Manager facilitates housing assignments and the move in process, provides clear communication for students, monitors and addresses maintenance, cleaning, and ITS requests, leads the Resident Assistants, facilitates Residence Life programming, enforces the Student Code of Conduct and Residence Life policies, responds to emergency situations and conduct violations, and participates in the on-call rotation. The Manager directly supervises six Resident Assistants and additional work-study students and part-time employees.
This role involves frequent interactions with students, parents, guests, and colleagues. The goal of this position is to support and enhance the student experience through a quality living environment on campus. This position requires adaptability, professionalism, and a commitment to creating and maintaining a positive living and learning experience for students.
Responsibilities and Duties:
NCTC Student Affairs Team Member Provide a positive experience for students, parents, guests, and colleagues
Facilitate daily operations for three residence halls
Establish and maintain a positive living and learning environment for students
Provide a positive presence on campus through living on campus full-time (12-month position)
Participate in the on-call rotation
Facilitate housing assignments: Coordinate, implement and track housing assignments (including assigning rooms and assigning roommates). Facilitate a waitlist for students who were not initially assigned their preferred rooms and/or housing locations
Facilitate the process for students moving in to the residence halls
Ensure rooms are ready for students/guests
Conduct room inventories in December and May
Communicate needs to Maintenance and ITS
Coordinate the check-in/check-out process
Provide clear communication (written, electronic, and verbal) for students regarding:
housing assignments, 2) move in dates and procedures, 3) residence life and college policies, 4) move out dates and procedures, 5) hall meetings, 6) events, 7) behavior concerns, 8) safety concerns, and 9) college and community resources
Monitor and address maintenance, cleaning, and furniture/equipment needs of the residence halls
