GAF Machine Technician - Night Shift in Gainesville, Texas

Summary :

The ISO Machine Technician is responsible for producing high quality commercial roofing products through accuracy, timeliness and efficiency of all manufacturing processes. The ideal candidate thrives in environments where safety, quality, service and cost are the highest priorities. The Machine Technician will perform various, rotating duties relating to all manufacturing operations, including but not limited to ISO production machine operations, nail board, raw material, facer unwind, platform / cross cut, multi-blade, pick and place, hooder/ footer, foot / panel/media blaster. He or she will support the managers and all plant staff to meet Gainesville operational goals and perform duties as assigned. Employees will contribute to a highly motivated and positive environment.

Essential Duties:

● Produce high quality products on a consistent basis

● Generate timely, consistent reports

● Communicate positively with other production technicians and leaders

● Assure all activities are performed safely

● Perform various, rotating duties relating to all manufacturing operations, including but not limited to ISO production machine operations, nail board, raw material, facer unwind, platform / cross cut, multi-blade, pick and place, hooder / footer, foot / panel / flute fill saws, media blaster.

● Prepares for shift start by attending pre-shift meetings, gathers tools, such as log sheets, tape measures, wrenches, etc.

● Obtains, and maintains fork-truck certification by attending in-house training, and completes daily fork truck check sheets

● Ensures optimum settings by performing a walk through and making visual inspections of equipment

● Performs quality checks, and completes daily log sheets per GAF RCN plant specifications

● Documents quality measurements by entering data into WinSPC or excel tracking sheet

● Troubleshoots work related issues and communicates issues with maintenance and shift leads

● Checks product specifications by reading, and understanding, intranet web-sites, Plant RCN's, Plant PCN's

● Sets, and adjust saws as necessary to maintain GAF RCN specification

● Performs minor maintenance of production and nail board machines as

● Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus

● Must continuously have the ability to differentiate colors precisely

● Required to reach with hands and arms and stoop, kneel or crouch, and climb

● Ability to perform detailed testing processes in various process conditions

● Frequent use of eye, hand and finger coordination enabling the use of manufacturing equipment and machinery

● Ability to read and concentrate via computer data entry typing and proofreading

● Regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally up to 50 pounds

Under this Roof, We Require:

● High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) required

● 3 years’ manufacturing experience preferred, preferably in a fast paced, continuous process, environment

Under this Roof, We also Value:

● Certifications in Node Red, SQL and/or javascript would be helpful, not required

● Experience supporting production and business goals

● Knowledge of manufacturing concepts, safety practices and procedures preferred
