Job Description

Occupational Summary:

The Field Service Technician I provides on-site support at the Air Framer for Safran Aerospace Seats pertaining to interiors manufactured in USA, France and Great Britain. The team of Field Service Technicians provides assistance to Air Framer / Airline customers during the build of the Aircraft specific to installation issues, damaged parts, reworking pickups, cosmetic defects and any customer relations issues we have. Rework areas include: Receiving, BFE, Factory and Flight line relating to all built Aircraft with Safran Seats product. All rework preformed at the Air Framer must adhere to Safran Seats drawings, specifications and specific rework instructions. This position will work under direct supervision and reports to the OSS Manager on a daily basis. This position handles basic issues and problems. Refers more complex issues to higher-level technicians.

Duties and Responsibilities (essential functions):

A) Rework and stamp pickups self-identified and/or written by Air Framer and/or customer during the build of the Aircraft.

B) Replace faulty electronic components and other damaged parts, adjusting misaligned panels / trim pieces, provide assistance to the Air Framer seat installation team and other miscellaneous tasks given.

C) Sustains a high quality level of workmanship at all times.

D) Responds promptly to all communication (telephone, etc.) with Air Framer personnel and customers.

E) Maintain a good rapport with Air Framer personnel and customers.

F) Follow Safran/ Air Framer safety guidelines or processes established by the organization at all times.

G) Responsible for driving company vehicles and other technicians safely around Air Framer/Safran Facilities.

H) Attend Safran daily standup/tie-in meeting.

I) Adhere to Air Framer/Safran training requirements that relate to Flight line, Safety and other course overviews throughout the year.

J) Coordinate verbally with QA's, Engineers, Lead's, Technicians and other key Air Framer / Safran personnel on a daily basis.

K) Performs other duties as assigned.

Complementary Description

HIRING BONUS: This position qualifies for a hiring bonus of $1500. $750 will be paid after 90 days of continuous employment and after 180 days of continuous employment.

Job Requirements

Qualification Requirements:

Education and Experience: High School Diploma or equivalent required.

Work Experience (Technical knowledge): 1-2 years of related experience preferred.

Professional Skills:

• Natural mechanical ability with hand and power tools.

• Basic computer knowledge and have some familiarity with MS office applications.

• Proficient using smart phones / tablets on a daily basis to send emails, pictures and other applications.

• Valid driver's license and the ability to obtain a passport.

• Must have the ability to generate written communication and to operate required office equipment.

• Ability to read and review written communication.

• Speech and hearing abilities that allow individual to communicate clearly and distinctly in English.

Behavioral Skills:

• Ability to work efficiently under stressful situations.

• Follow instructions and complete jobs in a timely manner.

• Customer service is essential for this job and the employee must have excellent communication skills, verbally and hand written.

• Must have the availability to work various hours, after hours and weekend as needed.

• Must have ability to maintain multiple tasks simultaneously, including the ability to manage assignments from more than one customer during any given day.

• Willing to travel to other Air Framer FALs in other state and other international Safran sites on some occasion.

Work Environment: The work environment includes office setting with moderate office noise

Physical Demands: This position requires extended periods of sitting while working with computers and viewing computer monitors and other office equipment. Excellent hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity. Bending, stooping, reaching, and lifting up to approximately twenty pounds are required during tasks related to the job.
