Student Assistant - Clerical & Admin
Insertion of typesetting coding in book files before sending them to a freelance copy editor.
Preparing copyedited manuscripts for transmittal to the design department.
Performing the following sequence of technical steps in perfection of typography: marking up manuscripts according to specifications; making or monitoring, then verifying corrections; checking final proofs and printer’s proofs.
Other clerical duties as assigned.
Salary$10.00 - 15 hours per week
A high school diploma .
Computer literacy, including working knowledge of Windows and Microsoft Office Suite.
Appropriate college coursework or relevant experience in a professional setting and/or publishing, especially copyediting and proofreading.
The ideal candidate will exhibit superior language skills and attention to detail; excellent time management and strong organizational and follow-through skills; reliability in meeting deadlines and adhering to schedules; excellent interpersonal skills, even under pressure; ability to work courteously and effectively with others; and the ability to juggle many tasks simultaneously and on deadline with minimal supervision.

This position is open to all students who are eligible to work on campus and will be employed through student Other Personnel Services (OPS) and must maintain a minimum 2.0 grade point average. Registered students are employed on a part-time basis, up to 20 hours per week.
